Shwetak Patel receives prestigious ACM Prize in Computing for groundbreaking contributions in low-power sensing and mobile health

University of Washington professor Shwetak Patel has been named the recipient of the 2018 ACM Prize in Computing from the Association for Computing Machinery. Patel, who holds a joint appointment in the Paul G. With AIControl, Allen School researchers replace biological experiments with artificial intelligence to better understand the human genome

The AIControl framework leverages hundreds of publicly available control datasets to improve the quality and efficiency of peak identification in ChIP-seq experiments, a popular technique for analyzing DNA-protein interactions.
